Care Provider: Customer Posting on CareApp
Clients and residents can log in and post to CareApp too! Setting up a Customer login is an easy way to engage your clients and residents. This guide provides staff with step-by-step instructions on how to enable and use customer posting.
Who is the Customer Login For?
The Customer login is specifically designed for clients and residents to connect with their own profiles on CareApp. Each client or resident can have one "Customer" login associated with their profile.

How Customers Can Create Posts
Customers can create posts on their own profiles just like staff members. To create a post, customers follow these steps:
- Tap on the + New button in CareApp.
- Select the type of post (e.g., Note, photo, Video, Wellbeing Check).
- Choose the profile to post on (most Customers will only have access to their own profile, but some may be connected to others as "Family Followers" depending on site preferences).
- Take or upload a photo from the device gallery.
- Write a caption for the post.
- Choose whether to share the post with family members.
- Select appropriate association labels.
- Tap the arrow icon to post.

Can Customers Connect to Other Profiles?
Yes! Once a Customer login is created, they can be added to other profiles in the community as a Family Follower or Family Representative. This allows them to view all posts on that profile that are shared with family.
To add a Customer to another profile:
- Navigate to the Customer profile you want to add them to.
- Click “Add to Community.”
- Enter their email address and select them from the dropdown list of existing members.
- Choose the appropriate role: “Family Representative” or “Family Follower.”
- Click “Add User.”
The Customer will be automatically added to the profile without needing to accept an invitation to join.

Creating a Customer Group Profile
If multiple Customers would like a shared space to post and interact without giving them full access to each other’s profiles, a group profile can be created. Follow these steps:
- Create a new Customer profile.
- Name it "[Site Name] Friends Group" (or another appropriate name for the community).
- Add all existing Customer login accounts as Family Followers.
This setup allows Customers to share posts with each other within the group. Staff can view the posts, but they will not be visible to outside accounts.
