Why You’re Not Receiving CareApp Notifications (And How to Fix It)
👋 Not getting CareApp notifications?
There are a few common reasons this might be happening.
1️⃣ Do you have a CareApp account set up yet?
Make sure you’ve accepted your invitation to join CareApp. If you haven’t set up your account yet, notifications won’t be able to reach you.
Need help joining CareApp? Here’s how to get started.
2️⃣ Is your account active?
If your account is not longer active (for example, if the Care Provider archived your loved-one's profile or removed your account), notifications will stop.
A simple way to check is to log into your CareApp account. If you're able to log in, your account is active and you should be receiving notifications. Log in to CareApp Login or the mobile app.
If you think your account might have been archived, reach out to CareApp Support and we’ll help check.
3️⃣ Are your notifications switched on?
Every CareApp account has its own notification settings. If these are turned off, you won’t receive updates.
👉 Here’s how to check and update your notification preferences.
4️⃣ Has anything new been posted?
CareApp only sends notifications when something new has been shared with you (like a photo, note, or update). If no one has posted recently, there may simply be nothing to notify you about.
You can log in to your CareApp account at CareApp Login or the mobile app to check for any recent updates.
Now let’s look at each notification type
📧 Email Notifications
These go to your email inbox when new activity happens in CareApp.
If you’re not receiving them:
- Check your junk/spam folder.
- Make sure you haven’t accidentally unsubscribed.
Some email providers may block automated emails—contact CareApp Support if you suspect this, so we can check for bounces.

📱 Push Notifications (Mobile App Alerts)
These are the pop-ups on your phone when using the CareApp app.
If you’re not seeing them:
- Ensure push notifications are enabled in the CareApp app settings.
Check your phone settings:
→ Settings > Apps > CareApp > Notifications and make sure they’re allowed.

🔔 In-App Notifications (Notifications Tab)
You can find these when logged in under the Notifications tab.
If this area looks empty, it could mean:
- There haven’t been any new posts.
- Your CareApp notifications are off (see above).

FAQ
I used to get email notifications, but they’ve stopped—why?
Check that your email notifications are still switched on and that CareApp emails aren’t going to your spam or junk folder. If you're unsure, contact CareApp Support to see if your email provider is blocking them.
How do I turn push notifications on for the CareApp mobile app?
Make sure they're enabled both in your CareApp settings and in your phone’s settings:
→ Settings > Apps > CareApp > Notifications
Where can I find in-app notifications?
Log into CareApp and click the Notifications tab. If nothing is showing, it might mean there haven’t been any recent updates.
How do I know if my account is active or archived?
If you can still log in, your account is active. If you're unable to log in or suspect your profile was removed, reach out to your provider or CareApp Support and we’ll check for you.
