Care Provider: What to Do When a CareApp Invitation Expires
⏳ How Invitation Expiry Works
When a CareApp invitation isn’t accepted within 28 days, it will expire. If someone tries to accept the invitation after it has expired, they won’t be able to complete their account setup — they’ll see a message letting them know the invitation has expired.
Here’s what the invited person has already received:
- The initial invitation email
- Three reminder emails spaced out over the 28-day period
Once the 28 days pass, the invitation becomes inactive and the invitation must be resent in order for the person to join CareApp.
🔄 How to Resend an Expired Invitation
You can resend invitations in two places:
Option 1: From the Invitations Page
- Go to the Members tab.
- Click on Invitations.
- Find the person’s email address in the pending list.
- Click Resend.
This sends a fresh invite email, just like the original.
It restarts the 28-day window and reminder emails.

Option 2: From a Customer Profile

- Go to the Community tab.

✅ Who Can Resend Invitations?
Site Coordinators and Provider Administrators can use the Resend button.
If your site settings allow family to invite others, Family members can simply send a new invitation, which works the same as resending.
