Care Provider: Consent for Photos and Videos in CareApp
We know that privacy and data security is at the front of mind for care providers and your team.
It is front of mind for us too!
A question we get asked from time to time is “do we need to get to a special CareApp consent?”. Firstly, let us put your mind at ease.
CareApp is a private and secure community, providing a trusted connection for photos and videos to be shared in a way that is easy, beautiful, and safe. Because it is a private community only approved staff and family members will see the photos and videos and you share.
So, now we know that CareApp is private, let’s dive a little deeper.
Do you already have consent?
On welcoming a new resident or client, many providers seek consent to share photos or videos in public newsletters, social media, or other promotional activities, and/or sharing information for the purposes of providing care. It may be worth considering whether this consent is already suitable for CareApp, noting that information shared in CareApp is private and is limited to approved staff and family members, and is not shared to the wider community.
If this is not something that you currently have, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at hello@careapp.com.au if you would like an example consent form, we are very happy to help you and answer any questions.

Privacy-by-design
CareApp is a software platform for care providers with many features designed to protect the integrity and privacy of information for families.
