Introducing New CareApp Roles
Explore how the new CareApp roles enhances user experience.
Part of CareApp's 'Easy and Beautiful' experience happens in the background, for example, how and when users are permitted to do certain tasks on Careapp. So it's important that CareApp's management and reporting functions are intuitive and that user permissions match people's day-to-day responsibilities.
Background
When CareApp was first introduced, Administrator and Coordinator roles had separate responsibilities. However, over time, the Coordinator role in CareApp expanded, driven by the need to manage user access and content moderation. This has led the Coordinator role to closely mirror the Administrator role.
Meanwhile, many CareApp Administrators have needed to oversee multiple sites, and their role requires organisational-wide features and reporting functions.
In December 2023, CareApp will refresh its existing roles to better reflect the operating environment of care providers, while introducing new roles to enable easier system management.
Here's what you can expect
New - Site Coordinator: the new "Site Coordinator" role combines the functions of the Coordinator and Administrator roles, streamlining tasks while maintaining the same level of access at a site level. With this update, all site-level Coordinators and Administrators will be merged into a single role, now displayed as “Site Coordinators”.
New - Provider Administrator: the new “Provider Administrator” role is designed for those who need the highest level of control across all sites, offering features for efficient organisational management. With this update, CareApp Sponsors / managers who are nominated by the provider to the CareApp Team directly, will be upgraded to this new “Provider Administrator” role.
What does this mean for you?
- You may see the name of your CareApp role change.
- You will see the updated role names when creating Notices & Question posts and when managing user access within CareApp.
- You will no longer be able to invite Administrators at an organisational level - “Provider Administrators” will be managed by the CareApp Team in the first instance.
For a summary of each CareApp user's role and permissions see this matrix.
