👋 Need to change a family member’s role on CareApp?

This guide explains how to switch a family member’s role between Family Representative and Family Follower. These are family-facing roles and are different from staff CareApp roles.

Who can change a family member’s role?

Only a Site Coordinator or Provider Administrator at the site where the family member is connected can change a family member’s role.


How to change a family member’s role

The steps are the same on both mobile and web.

1️⃣ Open the customer profile
Navigate to the customer (resident/client) whose family member’s role you want to change.

 

2️⃣ Go to the Community tab
Select the Community section to view all connected family members and contacts.

 

3️⃣ Find the family member
Scroll or search for the family member whose role you want to update.

 

4️⃣ Edit their role

Select the three dots (⋮) next to their name.

Choose Edit Role.

Select the new role (e.g. Family Follower or Family Representative).

✅ The role update takes effect immediately.
