CareApp's AI features make it easier for team members, site coordinators, and administrators to create posts and notices, and respond to enquiries. Behind the scenes, CareApp is using Generative AI / Large Language Models to generate text. This article provides some technical information about how CareApp's AI features are implemented, how your data is used, and where it goes.

CareApp's AI Features Are Hosted In Australia

CareApp makes use of Amazon Web Services Bedrock. Bedrock is a managed service provided by AWS, which provides access to Generative AI models. Importantly, the models used by CareApp hosted in Australia. The AI features run in the same AWS environment in their Sydney region (ap-southeast-2), just like the rest of the CareApp Platform.

No CareApp customer data is sent outside Australia when using AI.

CareApp uses Large Language Models developed by Anthropic, hosted by AWS.

Your CareApp Data Is Not Used To Train Models

The data we send to AWS Bedrock is used only for generating AI suggestions. No customer data is used to train AI models, and no data is provided to Anthropic for their use.

Data Sent to AWS Bedrock

In order to generate meaningful AI suggestions, we need to provide some data to the model as part of the prompt.

Post Suggestions

In order to polish posts with AI, we use the following data:

• First names of customers tagged in the post
• The caption/description of the post

Notices

In order to polish notices with AI, we provide the following:

• The notice headline
• The notice body
• Text content extracted from PDF attachments

This allows us to provide meaningful summaries of PDFs, such as newsletters.

Enquiries

In order to provide suggested replies to enquiries, we send the following data:

• The names of the people participating in the enquiry
• The message history of the conversation so far
